Jim Soorley


From 1991 to 2003 he served as popularly elected Lord Mayor of the Brisbane City Council, notably his Council introduced the City Cat ferries and drove the growth in the city’s bus-way network, he undertook reform of the Council’s finances and restructured the defined superannuation benefit provisions covering Council employees and Councillors resulting in significant savings to the city. He resigned his position in May 2003, having become Brisbane’s second-longest serving Lord Mayor after Clem Jones.

Jim holds a Bachelor of Arts, majoring in psychology, from Macquarie University, and a Master of Arts in organisational psychology from Loyola University Chicago.

Brent Reeman


Brent commenced with LGAQ as Director, Business Enterprises in 2006 and is now responsible for overseeing and directing the commercial and business development operations in order to provide realistic and sustainable business services, corporate partnerships and alliances to its members and clients. As well as this Brent is responsible for key projects in the areas of Disaster Management, Healthy Communities, Healthy Workplaces and Training and Skills Development.

Brent is a corporate governance specialist with the equivalent of 40 years’ experience as a company director and represents the shareholding interests of LGAQ as a Director or member of the management committee of a number of key organisations.

Steve Crowe

Chief Executive Officer

Resolute’s Chief Executive Office since 2012, Steve has a strong track in government in both Australia and the UK and specialises in the design and delivery of public sector business transformation projects.

Steve spent almost 10 years with the Capita Group Plc in the UK – a FTSE 100 company and the dominant partner for all tiers of government in the UK. He worked across several of Capita’s core business areas, including operations & project management for several of the Group’s major integrated projects. Steve also has extensive experience of working in Capita’s corporate Business Development Team – with responsibility for constructing business solutions for the public sector strategic service partnerships with values in excess of £200m. Steve was an Associate Director of Capita Advisory Services from 2003 – 2005. Prior to moving into business, Steve spent 5 years in the Royal Air Force.

Steve holds an MSc (Econ) in Politics (Distinction), University of Wales, Swansea (UK) and a BA (Hons) Politics and International Relations (1st class honours), University of Wales, Swansea (UK).
